My grandmother was born in 1914, she's witnessed the jet age- a man landing on the moon, miracle drugs and blue smurfs. An amazing woman who's still walking in her nineties. (photo circa 1945 - from right to left: grandma, mom)

GramblingsI've been watching this show " A Haunting" which I believe was broadcast on the Discovery Channel. I haven't finished the series (on dvd) yet. The first few episodes were fluff. But now it's starting to get kinda creepy...

OK, Spirits? Houses that are haunted which no one will buy except for some poor unsuspecting family with nowhere else to go? You gotta be kidding. "I sense an evil presence" one medium says, "I will bless this house" the local deacon exclaims. I've had my fair share of hauntings. One house I lived in the doors would slam shut (the wind? bad locks?) and until I proclaimed loudly "I need some sleep. Either you wait until I'm at work and rattle all the cabinets and doors you want or I will get an exorcist/spirit remover of some kind and you'll be evicted. We can both live together if you can follow these simple requests." Well, the doors stopped slamming and cabinets stopped opening. Was it my plea for a noiseless night? Perhaps it was a few trips to the hardware store to fix the locks. But let's talk about "A Haunting" I like it. The enactments are good, the stories a little creepy and chill factor is about a "7" (out of 10) Do I believe any of the tales so far? Nah. Doesn't mean I'm not keeping an open mind...
