My grandmother was born in 1914, she's witnessed the jet age- a man landing on the moon, miracle drugs and blue smurfs. An amazing woman who's still walking in her nineties. (photo circa 1945 - from right to left: grandma, mom)

So there I was, hours before getting on a plane to head back to LA, when a hurricane warning threatens my very departure. Hurricane Charly...or is it?

The first thing I do is head to the Weather Channel website. I must admit...I'm addicted to this site. Credit goes to them for the photo I grabbed.

Boy oh boy, did this one look mean! I just missed it by about a half an hour or so.Whew! Talk about good timing. But why the name Charly? Wasn't there a movie recently about a girl named Charly that goes to Utah or something like that? Anyway, as I was frantically measuring distances and times, trying to place the hurricane where I was about to take off from - out of the corner of my eye, Charly began to take on a face - yes, another sighting! Maybe I was a little crazy or perhaps just darn tired from the time change and a lack of sleep, "Charly", looked like Elvis. You'll notice in the second picture I've added some text with arrows, pointing to key locations on the photo. Perhaps Elvis was trying to communicate using mother nature as a medium - most likely though, my brain cells were in a state of electrical overload from the heat and humidity. On the other hand, it also looks like a pac-man with long hair...
    ...you decide

I knew a wolf named Charly who could huff, and puff, and blow your house down. He developed an affinity for pork chops and bacon.
